The yard has inevitably undergone a process of
evolution in the past decade regarding equipment and
facility for carrying our work on the boats as
efficiently as possible. Particular thought and
resource has gone into getting boats under cover as
there are no permanent boatsheds on the site.
We designed and built a set of three steel framed
shelters, each 27ft (8.3m) long that slide on a set
of rails the length of the boatyard adjacent to the
Quay wall. These give us enough flexibility to
accommodate many combinations of craft ashore at any
time, and be able to access them for craning in or
out of the water by sliding the shelters as
necessary.
We have carried out work on a variety of fine craft
over the years, for customers who are dedicated
wooden boat enthusiasts and appreciate the work that
goes into their maintenance.
I hope the images on the web-site will be
inspirational to anyone thinking of buying a wooden
boat or contemplating work on a boat they already
cherish.In early
February 2012 our landlord informed me that he
wished to put the whole site up for sale. This
prompted me to try and find somewhere else within
Chichester Harbour to relocate. Fortunately we were able to move into premises at Birdham Pool Marina
which enables us to maintain our operation and
service to our customers as at Dolphin Quay but with
improved facilities. You can see photos of our new
site here.
Hope to see our regular
customers and new faces at our new site.
